The letter of Minister of Foreign Affairs RSO Murat Jioev to the General Secretary of the United Nations Sir Pan Gi Moon

Minister of Foreign Affairs Republic of South Ossetia Murat Jioev has sent the letter to the General Secretary of the United Nations Sir Pan Gi Moon. Similar letters was addressed to the Chairman of OSCE Migel Anhel Moratinos and to the President the PACE Rene Van der Linden.

Your Excellency, Mr. General Secretary,
Allow us to express to you our highest esteem. We deem it absolutely necessary and urgent to draw your attention to the increasing tension in the zone of the Georgian-Ossetian conflict caused by the aggressive political course regarding the Republic of South Ossetia, the policy to which the Georgian authorities are adhered and to remind you of the unconstructive position taken by Georgia in the Georgian-Ossetian conflict settlement process and in the normalization of the Georgian-Ossetian relations in general.

Juriy Popov: «We will achieve release of all the innocently detained citizens of the Russian Federation»

In Tskhinval there takes place the consulting meeting of the co-chairmen of JCC from Russia and the Republic of South Ossetia Juriy Popov and Boris Chochiev. As the ambassador on special missions of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, the co-chairman of JCC from Russia Juriy Popov has informed the journalists before the beginning of the meeting, the consultative meeting has taken place also with the co-chairman of JCC from Georgia Dmitriy Mandzhavidze.

The message of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of RSO

On September, 26th at 20.30pm the georgian armed formations, concentrated on the territory of Georgia along the border with the Republic of South Ossetia and on the approaches to the town of Tskhinval, having made the next attempt of intrusion on the territory of South Ossetia, have subjected to massed shelling the southern inhabited quarters of the town, closely adjoining the georgian territory.

A temporary post from the Peacemaking Forces of the Russian Federation is placed

In connection with an aggravation of the situation and for prevention of the possible collisions of the contradictory sides, and stabilization of the situation in the area of the south-east outskirts of the town of Tskhinval, of a migratory post of South Ossetia and the northern outskirts of the settlement Ergneti, the command of the Joint Staff of JPKF has made a decision on placement of a temporary post of peace-making forces since 18.00pm of September, 27th, 2007 in the structure of one motor-shooting branch from the Peacemaking Forces of the Russian Federation on a IFV-1 and the observers from the three parties in the specified area.
