The South Ossetian KGB expelled the Georgian border violator from the Republic

On January 21, the South Ossetian border guards detained Gela Berianidze, the Georgian citizen and resident of Bershueti in the Gori Municipality, for violating the state border, the Republic's KGB press service reports.

"It was established that the violator had intentionally crossed the South Ossetian-Georgian border near the village of Amdzarin in Leningor District," the agency has noted.

On January 22, Berianidze was expelled from the Republic.

South Ossetia will continue to strengthen its alliance with Venezuela Acting Foreign Minister

South Ossetia will continue constructive cooperation with Venezuela despite the worsening political crisis in the country, Acting Foreign Minister Akhsar Dzhioev announced during the press conference.

He has noted that Tskhinval officially condemns the abduction of President Nicolás Maduro, considering it a gross violation of the UN Charter, but does not intend to curtail diplomatic contacts with the state that has recognized the Republic's independence.

South Ossetian State University will strengthen support for thespecial military operation participants - Rector

Two Georgian citizens have been expelled from South Ossetia for violating the state border

South Ossetian authorities have expelled two Georgian citizens detained for violating state border regulations. This was reported by the State Security Committee of the Republic of South Ossetia.

According to the agency, on January 13, 2026, the border guards detained Nika Kokoshvili (born 2006) and Guram Grdzelishvili (born 1999)-residents of the village of Takhtisdziri in the Kareli Municipality.
