Establishment of the Intergovernmental Commission for Economic and Social Cooperation between South Ossetia and Russia
In 2010, the Interngovernmental Commission for Social and Economic Cooperation between South Ossetia and Russia was established to replace the Inter-Agency Commission for Rehabilitation of South Ossetia. This Commission was created to ensure more effective interaction between the governments of South Ossetia and Russia in the rehabilitation and socio-economic development of South Ossetia in 2011.

In 2010, the State Committee for the implementation of rehabilitation projects handed over 202 newly constructed houses. 50 private houses will be ready early 2011, reported Deputy Chairman of State Committee Sarmat Kotaev.

Yesterday evening, two workers of "Spetsstroy", Russia, having gone astray drove towards the Georgian village of Adzvi, Gori district. The President of the Republic of South Ossetia Eduard Kokoity will not run for the third presidential term in 2011 election and after finishing his second term as president he intends to "remain in politics and serve the people, said the President at the press'conference in Moscow.

On 15-16 December 2010, the 14th round of international discussions on security and stability in South Caucasus took place in Geneva. As before, delegations of the Republic of South Ossetia, the Republic of Abkhazia, Georgia, the RF and the U.S. participated in the meeting Co-Chairs by the UN, EU and OSCE.
Within the frameworks of the agenda of the first working group on security, an exchange of views on the situation in the area adjacent to the state border of South Ossetia and Georgia was held. Effective Interaction of Prosecutor General's Offices of South Ossetia and Russia ensures legitimacy of spending of the funds allocated for the rehabilitation in the Republic, Anatoly Palamarchuk, Head of the Department for Implementation of Federal Legislature of the RF Prosecutor General's Office, stated at the press briefing in Tskhinval after the second meeting of the inter-agency working group of the Prosecutor General's Offices of South Ossetia and Russia.
"Throughout the month after the first meeting, we have been inviting all relevant ministries, departments and entities, reviewed their work, checked each and every budget entry allocated for the rehabilitation of sites damaged during an armed conflict in South Ossetia ", said Palamarchuk.

In Moscow, a meeting of Plenipotentiary of the President of South Ossetia for Post-Conflict Settlement Boris Chochiyev with the Council of Europe Commissioner for Human Rights Tomas Hammarberg took place. As Boris Chochiev reported to IA "Res" by telephone from Moscow, the meeting discussed the fate of citizens of South Ossetia and Georgia missing from and after the Georgian aggression in August 2008, as well as prolongation of the work of international experts engaged by Hammarberg to look into this problem.
