Cooperation between South Ossetia and Russia has reached a high level over the past 15 years and is actively developing in all areas, from the military-political sphere to education, culture and sports, President of the Republic of South Ossetia Alan Gagloev noted on Thursday at the press conference in Tskhinval.
The issue of South Ossetia joining Russia was not removed from the agenda, South Ossetian President Alan Gagloev said during the final press conference.
“There is no need to deceive the people. In the current situation there is no way to resolve the issue. We are in constant contact with our Russian colleagues. It is not removed from the agenda,” the head of state has noted.
Gagloev has emphasized that political forces must bear responsibility for their statements, as this concerns the security of the people.
President of South Ossetia Alan Gagloev met with the fighters of the Alania battalion Guram Tskhovrebov and Dmitry Bekoity, the press service of the head of state reports.

The stay of the International Committee of the Red Cross in South Ossetia has been extended; a corresponding decision was made by the Cabinet of Ministers at the meeting on Wednesday.
The issue was submitted to the Government by Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic Akhsar Dzhioev.
“The Red Cross has been doing some humanitarian work and the government gives them permission to do their work. I ask you to support the issue of extending their mission in the Republic,” the Minister said.
The proposal was unanimously supported by members of the Cabinet.
Parliamentarians of South Ossetia are taking part in the 65th session of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Union of Belarus and Russia in Moscow, the press service of the legislative body of the Republic of South Ossetia reports.
In 2023, 448 violators were detained at various sections of the state border of South Ossetia, of which 196 are violators of the state border regime, 251 are border regime violators. Such data is provided by the State Security Committee of the Republic.
