A rally in memory of the victims of the Ered tragedy took place on Saturday at the mass grave in the capital's cemetery in South Ossetia.

The rally was attended by representatives of the leadership of South Ossetia, ministries and departments, relatives of the victims of the tragedy, and members of the public.

Opening the rally, director of the National Museum of South Ossetia Merab Zasseev has noted that March 18, 1991 entered the modern history of Ossetia as a bleeding wound inflicted by the Georgian neo-fascists.

The interstate agreement on alliance and integration between South Ossetia and Russia unites the security spaces of the two countries; therefore armed aggression against the Republic of South Ossetia is tantamount to aggression against the Russian Federation itself. He has noted that any attempts by Georgia and its Western partners to isolate South Ossetia are pointless.

In Moscow President of South Ossetia Alan Gagloev met with Deputy Secretary of the Security Council of the Russian Federation Rashid Nurgaliyev, the press service of the head of the South Ossetian state reports.

"During the meeting, issues of international and national security were discussed. The parties discussed the current situation in Georgia," the press service said.
