Ammunition cache has been found in the village of Iry-khæu in Tskhinval district, the press service of the South Ossetian Ministry of Emergency Situations reports.

As noted by the department, the cache contained 7.62 mm and 5.45 mm cartridges in the amount of 16 and 25 pieces, respectively; 14.5 mm cartridges from the KPVT - 4 units; a signal flare and a machine gun belt, of 1 piece each.

The ammunition was seized by sappers of the South Ossetian Ministry of Emergency Situations and is subject to disposal in accordance with the established procedure.

During the operational and investigative activities carried out on Wednesday, the State Security Committee of South Ossetia identified another resident of Dzau district who had been regularly contacting representatives of the Georgian State Security Service and passed on to them the information that did not contain state secrets about the socio-political situation in the Republic of South Ossetia.
