The South Ossetian Delegation to the 9th round of Geneva Talks is not going to focus on the discussions; it will address the position of the Co-Chairs in relation to the expected duration of these talks", stated Boris Chochiev, the Special Representative for Post-Conflict Settlement in a phone conversation from Geneva.
"We see no results of these discussions, both in security issues, and humanitarian sphere. Therefore, we'll have different approach to the conversation", underlined the Special Representative.
"This is not the first round of talks, it is the ninth round. The results should be identified already today. And again, our delegation will propose signing a legally-binding document to guarantee non-use of force against South Ossetia within the frames of Medvedev-Sarkozy Agreement", underscored Boris Chochiev.
He expressed his regret that "the Georgian side with the support of the Geneva Co-Chairs of the UN, OSCE and EU tries to lead us away from elaboration of this draft paper. It can be directly explained with the assumption that the EU and OSCE are deviating from the implementation of the main point of Medevedev-Sarkozy Agreement; similar to the way the EU had escaped the discussion of the Report made by Tagliavini's Fact-finding Mission where it was stated that Georgia was the aggressor". The Special Representative of the RSO President informed that "simultaneously to elaboration of the draft non-use of force memorandum, there is another process – the process of active remilitarization and training of the Georgian army". "This is a warning situation, and it is already high time to focus on the results. One might say that there are no major results achieved within the frameworks of the Geneva Discussions, if there are any at all", underlined Boris Chochiev.
Boris Chochiev has also stressed that the issues related to return of missing persons and resumption of gas supply for Leningor district would be discussed at the meeting in Geneva.
