The second meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission on socio-economic cooperation between Russia and South Ossetia took place in Tskhinval. Representatives of almost all ministries and agencies of Russia and South Ossetia attended the meeting.
The meeting participants should determine the amount of funding within the socio-economic cooperation between Russia and South Ossetia in 2011, and approve the list of sites on the territory of South Ossetia the construction of which is to be carried out next year in the framework of socio-economic cooperation between Russia and South Ossetia. Furthermore, the date of the next meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission should be fixed.
The President of the Republic of South Ossetia Eduard Kokoity opened the meeting.
He noted that at this meeting, the Commission would discuss the planning for 2011, with the gaps that occurred in 2010 to be taken into account. Eduard Kokoity said he hoped for effective work in the process of rehabilitation of South Ossetia.
"I hope that we will coordinate our activities with the view of the new forms and principles of the relationship to rehabilitate the Republic. We see how seriously Russia is committed to further cooperation in these matters ", the president said.
In his turn, the Prime Minister of South Ossetia Vadim Brovtsev and Regional Development Deputy Minister, Deputy Chairman of the Russian part of the Commission Roman Panov introduced the changes in the number and the personel of the Intergovernmental Commission.
Roman Panov also said that over the past two years, serious plans were implemented and difficulties oversome.
"Since the second meeting, the commission's activities became systematic. The follow-up work will be based on the decisions taken by the Intergovernmental Commission. Today our challenge is not to summarize the results. It is matter of discussion for a separate meeting. Today, we define the scope of work for 2011 and the order in which we carry them out ", said Panov.
Touching on the issue of the scope of funding within the socio-economic cooperation between Russia and South Ossetia in 2011, Panov said that for the purposes of rehabilitation and socio-economic development of South Ossetia 6 billion 800 million rubles were allocated.
The meeting also discussed the Terms of of interaction between the RF Ministry of Regional Development and relevant organization in South Ossetia. The participants expressed their comments and suggestions on this document.
