EMECOMs of South Ossetia and Russia to sign cooperation agreement

An intergovernmental agreement on cooperation in prevention and management of emergencies is to be signed between the Republic of South Ossetia and the Russian Federation, reported the Minister for Emergency Situations (EMERCOM) of South Ossetia Anatoly Bibilov. According to him, the agreement will be signed in February 2011 in Moscow.

"The agreement will be signed between the Ministries of Emergencies of South Ossetia and Russia", said Bibilov. "It will provide for mutual assistance, exchange, cooperation in the assessment of environmental risks, sharing scientific and technical literature, information on emergency situations. "
The Head of South Ossetian EMERCOM also noted that the agreement envisages joint conferences, training, exchange of trainees and instructors.
