Governments of South Ossetia and Russia Sign Agreement on Cooperation in Prevention of and Response to Emergency Situations

The Governments of the Republic of South Ossetia and the Russian Federation signed an agreement on cooperation in prevention and response to emergencies, reported the press service of the Embassy of South Ossetia in the Russian Federation.
"The signing took place in Moscow. For the Russian side, the agreement was signed by the Minister of the Russian Federation for Civil Defence, Emergencies and Disaster Relief (EMERCOM) Sergey Shoigu , for the South Ossetian side the EMERCOM Minister of the Republic of South Ossetia Anatoly Bibilov signed the agreement", reported the press-service.

"The agreement provides for mutual support, exchange of experience, cooperation in the assessment of environmental risks, sharing scientific and technical literature, and exchange of information on disaster management", Anatoly Bibilov told IA RES in a phone conversation.
The EMERCOM Minister of South Ossetia also noted that under the agreement joint conferences, teaching, training, exchange of trainees and instructors would be organized.
According to the Embassy, after the signing ceremony, Anatoly Bibilov was awarded with the Medal of Russia's EMERCOM "For the commonwealth for life-saving" and I.Kozaev, Head of South Ossetian EMERCOM Department for international cooperation and humanitarian response, was awarded with the Russian EMERCOM medal "To the Participant of Emergency Humanitarian Operations".
