The President of Russia Dmitry Medvedev and the President of South Ossetia Eduard Kokoity have discussed the questions of bilateral relations strengthening at the meeting in the Sochi residence of the Russian leader. The negotiations have passed on the threshold of the third anniversary of independence recognition of South Ossetia and Abkhazia by Russia. During the negotiations the presidents of two countries have emphasized the questions of strengthening bilateral interaction and the international issues connected with development of South Ossetia.
«Tomorrow it will be three years from the moment of the independence recognition of South Ossetia and Abkhazia by the Russian Federation. It`s a great event for the South- Ossetian people. Three years have passed since that date, the Republic has been developing, there are some achievements and difficulties, too, which always accompany the process of development, therefore, let's talk about strengthening bilateral interaction and the international questions connected with the development of your state», - the President of Russia has said. He has congratulated Eduard Kokoity with the third anniversary of the independence recognition. In turn, the President of South Ossetia on behalf of the Ossetian people has thanked the Russian President for those uneasy, timely and important decisions which were made by the Russian Federation leadership. «These decisions were determining for our small nation, and today we have a possibility to live in peace and develop our state. I want to note, that our interstate relations have been developing very dynamically», - has underlined Kokoity. The President of South Ossetia has noticed that the humanitarian interdepartmental action, held by the Russian ministries and departments, is taking place in the Republic now and the day before a large consignment of the humanitarian help has been delivered to the Republic. «However hard it was, whatever consequences of the economic crisis we had, all the same the plans on restoration and investment development of the Republic of South Ossetia are being effectively realized», - he has noted. Thereupon, Dmitry Medvedev has also expressed his hope and confidence that all plans of bilateral cooperation will be fulfilled. Over a cup of tea Dmitry Medvedev and Eduard Kokoity have discussed the world policy and the problems of South Ossetia.
