More than 40 observers from the Russian Federation will monitor the elections in South Ossetia. As reported to IA "Res" by a representative of the Central Election Committee Christina Avlokhova, "more than 40 observers will arrive in the Republic on the invitation of the Central Election Committee, Parliament, the Presidential Administration of South Ossetia."
"They are representatives of the Federation Council. The delegation is headed by the Chairman of Defense and Security Federation Council Viktor Ozerov. As observers in Tskhinval and in the districts of South Ossetia will be working the committee member of the Federation Council on social policy Elias Bechelov and a member of the Committee on regulations and organization of parliamentary activities, Albert Kazharov, as well as representatives of the Russian Federation Central Election Committee, the Foundation "Free elections" from Transdniestria, Nagorno-Karabakh "- said Avlokhova.
According to her, most of the observers have already arrived in the Republic; representatives of the State Duma will arrive tonight. "The delegation will include six deputies from different factions, led by Vladimir Ponevezhsky (United Russia)."
According to the representative of the CEC, the election will be monitored by representatives of various social organizations; over 60 journalists from Russia and abroad were accredited for the coverage of the presidential elections.
Currently, the CEC of the Republic did not register any violation of the "Day of Silence"; "the CEC is ready for the elections."
