In Tskhinval took place the first press conference of heads of executive authorities as part of a planned series of similar events held on the instructions of the President of the Republic Leonid Tibilov. The RSO Security Council Secretary Anatoly Pliev has answered the questions of journalists.

As explained by the Chairman of the State Committee of Information and Press Vyacheslav Gobozov, communication of officers with journalists will be held weekly in a variety of formats, they planned to invite the heads of almost all government agencies.
"It's good for officials and, of course, for the public and journalists. Such actions will improve the mechanisms of public control over the authorities; the public will be better informed about the activities of various agencies, "- said Gobozov.
In his speech Anatoly Pliev has explained that the main task of the Security Council of South Ossetia established and headed by the RSO President is to ensure the rights and freedoms of people, external and internal security, the preservation and strengthening of the territorial integrity, sovereignty and other priority interests of the state.
"Last year we held negotiations with the Ministry of Defence of the Russian Federation, which resulted in the preservation of the level of the armed forces of South Ossetia necessary for the defense of the Republic ", - said the Secretary of the Security Council.
He has reminded that earlier it was supposed to reduce the number of South Ossetian armed forces up to 250 people, but the President of the Republic Leonid Tibilov during the first meeting with his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin managed to reach an agreement on the conservation of the number of army personnel in the amount of 1,250.
"We managed to convince the Russian Ministry of Defense and, having done the relevant work, which was later confirmed documentarily" - added Pliev.
The Security Council of South Ossetia has been working closely with the Russian counterparts. On July 12, 2013 they signed Memorandum of Mutual Understanding.
"The essence of the Memorandum is that the signatories express their understanding of the need to strengthen security in Transcaucasia and in the world. On this basis, we have agreed on cooperation in various fields and directions. In particular, will be established a joint working group that will develop and prepare specific plans for specific areas. The Working Group meeting will be held in South Ossetia and in Russia ", - said the head of the Security Council.
Areas of co-operation also include the economic, environmental, information security.
"We will do everything necessary to achieve a self-sufficient defense. We have been working in this direction and will continue to work ", - assured Pliev.
Pliev has stressed that Russia's Security Council provides great assistance to the Ossetian colleagues. For the first time cooperation between the two agencies is taking place at such a high level.
