The composition of the working Friendship Group on cooperation between the Parliament of South Ossetia and the People’s Council of the Syrian Arab Republic was approved at the session of the South Ossetian Parliament.
The question for discussion of parliamentarians was submitted by the Chairman of the Committee on Foreign Policy and Inter-Parliamentary Relations, Igor Kochiev, who noted that the group had included representatives of all political parties.
“It was decided to form a Friendship Group between the deputies of the Parliament of South Ossetia and Syria. Its composition can be changed at the request of deputies who want to join the group and work in it,” Kochiev said.
The Parliament Speaker Petr Gassiev has noted that the official delegation of the Syrian Republic will arrive in South Ossetia in spring.
“The Syrian Arab Republic gladly accepted our invitation to visit South Ossetia, and it is going to come in April. This will be the first official visit of the Syrian delegation, during which the signing of the Treaty of Friendship and Cooperation between the parliaments of our countries is to take place,” the Speaker said.
Igor Kochiev has added that the Agreement, which should be signed between the legislative bodies of South Ossetia and Syria, is currently being worked out.
“Considering the weather conditions and the condition of the road connecting South Ossetia with Russia, it was decided that the delegation’s visit would take place this spring,” he explained.
Deputies of the Parliament, for their part, unanimously approved the list.
The permanent group has included the Chairman of the parliamentary committee on foreign policy and inter-parliamentary relations (the Chairman of the group) Igor Kochiev, deputies Albert Khubaev, Atsamaz Kasaev and Arsen Kvezerov.
