Former IBF and WBA world champion in the first heavyweight Russian Murat Gassiev, most likely, will hold his first heavyweight fight on July 27, media reports referring to ESPN.
Gassiev will perform on the undercard of the tournament, which will lead the fight with the participation of WBO world junior welterweight champion Maurice Hooker. The venue and the opponent of the Russian boxer have not yet been determined.
In April, the 25-year-old Russian signed a contract with the DAZN streaming service and moved to heavy weight. The last time Gassiev entered the ring was in July 2018, when he lost to Alexander Usik in the final of the first season of the World Boxing Super Series (WBSS). After this fight, Gassiev had surgery on his shoulder.
