Georgia will not give up provocative actions against South Ossetia, President of South Ossetia Anatoly Bibilov said, commenting on the situation on the state border of the Republic with Georgia at the request of IA "RES".

"These " traditions" were nurtured by the criminal regime of Mikhail Saakashvili, who put the policy of state terrorism against the Ossetian people at the forefront, and their roots go back to the 1920s of the last century, when the population of South Ossetia was subjected to mass destruction, " the President said in the interview.

According to him, it is obvious that the purpose of constructing of the illegal police post near the village of Tsnelis (Uista) in Znaur district of South Ossetia, "as well as other illegal actions taken by Georgia, was an attempt to destabilize the situation and provoke South Ossetia."

"It also gives the Georgian authorities the opportunity to distract Georgian society from numerous internal problems. Therefore, our main task is not to succumb to provocations. I believe that we reacted correctly by localizing them and preventing us from moving in this direction," Bibilov said.

He has noted that the State Security Committee and the Border Guard are acting according to the plan to neutralize and minimize such threats.

"Of course, we will seek to remove the illegal post from our territory and, together with our Russian colleagues, are working closely in this direction," said Anatoly Bibilov.

He has added, the South Ossetian side will continue to work in the international format as part of the Geneva discussions.
