Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of South Ossetia: At night, sniper fire was observed at the posts of law enforcement agencies in the southern outskirts of Tskhinval. Around the entire perimeter of the Republic, there is still a concentration of Georgian armed formations, including one division of D-30 howitzers and two mortar batteries.

Georgian armed formations fired at a funeral procession in the village of Mugut, Znaur district of the Republic of South Ossetia. As reported to IA "Res" by Minister of Internal Affairs of the Republic of South Ossetia Mikhail Mindzayev the funeral of Anatoly Kabisov, a law enforcement officer of the South Ossetian Republic, who died as a result of the shelling of a post of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of South Ossetia in the village of Velit on the night of August 1-2, was held in Mugut.

Another convoy with evacuated children left the Republic of South Ossetia. On August 3, 600 people were evacuated, all of them were placed in Vladikavkaz.

The State Security Committee of the Republic of South Ossetia has stated that the Georgian special services intend to carry out terrorist acts in the capital of South Ossetia, Tskhinval in the near future, aimed at destabilizing the situation and escalating tension in the zone of the Georgian-Ossetian conflict.
