Eight people with coronavirus were hospitalized in a day in a medical center in South Ossetia

In the "red zones" of the Republican Multidisciplinary Medical Center of South Ossetia, as of the morning of January 16, 66 patients with COVID-19 are being treated.

This was reported to IA "Res" by the chief infectious disease specialist of the Republic, Eleonora Dzhioeva.

“Currently, there are 26 people in the infectious building of the RMMC, and 40 in the building of the children's hospital. Five of them are in the intensive care unit,” the doctor said.

Over the past day, eight patients were admitted to the "red zone" of the hospital, two were discharged, one person was evacuated to a medical institution outside the republic.

As noted by Dzhioeva, the admission and triage department of the RMMC received 38 patients the day before, two of them were hospitalized.

"Five people were referred for computed tomography of the chest organs. 44 people who applied were tested in the admission and triage department," the chief infectious disease specialist said.

Dzhioeva has added, the mobile teams examined seven patients at home.
