President of South Ossetia Anatoly Bibilov said at the eighth congress of the United Ossetia party that he had kept his promises to voters.

“The Republic is living on the eve of an important political event – presidential elections. This is the seventh presidential election in a row," Bibilov said.

According to him, South Ossetia continues its development as a democratic state based on the principles of universal and direct suffrage, when every citizen has the right to vote and personally votes for his candidate.

“I consider this system to be in the interests of sovereign statehood, the principles of democracy and the will of the people of South Ossetia,” the head of state stressed. “Five years ago, on January 25, 2017, the delegates to the congress of the United Ossetia party nominated my candidacy for the presidency, and the people of the Republic, by their vote on April 9, 2017, supported and approved this choice made by the party,” he said.

Bibilov has noted that people voted for restoring order in the system of state power and administration, for greater attention of the authorities to the situation of the people, for the active development of integration with Russia.

“Today we can say that our election program has been basically fulfilled, I kept my promises to the voters. It should be noted in fairness that the most serious merit in the successes achieved belongs to the United Ossetia party, whose full support I have invariably clearly seen in all matters for the benefit of the people of South Ossetia,” the President noted.
