President of South Ossetia Anatoly Bibilov met with members of the delegation of the Federation Council of the Russian Federation, headed by a member of the RF Federation Council Committee on International Affairs Sergei Tsekov, who arrived in the Republic as international observers for the presidential election, the press service of the head of state reported.
The meeting was also attended by Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to South Ossetia Marat Kulakhmetov.
Having greeted the guests, the President has noted that the attention that the Russian colleagues are showing to the political processes in South Ossetia commands respect.
“The political processes that are taking place here are fundamental for the development of any society. Tomorrow we will have presidential elections. I am sure that everything will be held within the framework of the law, and you will become the witnesses to this,” Anatoly Bibilov said.
In turn, Sergey Tsekov thanked the head of the South Ossetian state for the warm welcome, noting that South Ossetia and the Russian Federation are living by common deeds, interests and successes.
“We are well aware that everything that happens in South Ossetia is an object of close attention in Russia, and what is happening in Russia and what is connected with Russia is a subject of great attention from South Ossetia. We are all interconnected,” he said.
Sergei Tsekov noted that for the third time he would be observing the election process in South Ossetia, expressing confidence that this time they would also be held within the law.
“Everything here is always at a high level. Our task is to look, observe and draw the right conclusions. And we wish South Ossetia development and success,” he said.
