President of South Ossetia Anatoly Bibilov has met with the Secretary General of the Vienna Alexander Suvorov Institute. Patrik Poppel, who arrived in the Republic as an international observer for the presidential elections in South Ossetia from Austria, the press service of the head of state reported.
The meeting was also attended by Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of South Ossetia Dmitry Medoev.
After welcoming the guest, the President briefed him on the procedure for elections in South Ossetia, stressing that they are democratic and transparent.
“We know you as a person of principle, a connoisseur of universal values, which cannot but cause deep respect for you both as a person and as a public figure. And the fact that you are here, came to the elections, gives you a special role and responsibility, shows special attention to our elections,” he said.
Anatoly Bibilov has also noted that observers have always noted the observance of order and legality in the elections in South Ossetia.
“Tomorrow you will be convinced of this, and we, of course, will wait for your conclusion,” he said.
In turn, Patrick Poppel thanked the head of the South Ossetian state for his attention and invitation to take part in the presidential elections in South Ossetia.
“Elections are a very important process. For me, participation in them is not only a job, it is an honor for me to be here. I want to help your country in terms of international relations and for the benefit of the future of your people,” he said.
