The incumbent President of South Ossetia, Anatoly Bibilov, after processing 95% of the protocols, is inferior to the leader of the Nykhas party, Alan Gagloev, who won 10,705 votes (36.9%), according to the first official results of the CEC of the Republic, presented at the press center of the CEC on Monday morning.
"39,021 people were included in the voter lists at the end of voting. The number of voters who took part in the voting was 28,976 people, which is 74.26 percent of the total number of voters included in the lists at the end of voting," the head of the Central Election Commission of the Republic Emilia Gagieva said in the press center of the CEC
She has noted that according to the CEC, after processing 95% of the protocols, Alan Gagloev has 36.9% - 10 thousand 705 votes, Anatoly Bibilov - 33.5%, this is 9 thousand 706 votes, Garry Muldarov - 8.9% - 2 thousand 592, Alexander Pliev - 11.9% - 3 thousand 434, Dmitry Tasoev 2.8% - 822, 1.8% - 528 people voted against all of them.
Thus, the second round of the presidential elections will take place in the Republic, since none of the candidates won the 50% plus one vote necessary to win in the first round. The incumbent head of state Anatoly Bibilov and leader of the Nykhas party Alan Gagloev advance to the second round.
The date for the second round of elections will be set two days after the publication of the election results.
The CEC will announce the final results, possibly tomorrow, and the second round of elections will then be scheduled for April 24.
It should be noted that the winner in the second round is determined by a simple majority of votes. To recognize the second round of elections as successful, more than 30% of the voters included in the electoral lists must take part in the voting. The ballot papers provide the opportunity to vote against all candidates.
