Polling stations for voting in the presidential elections in South Ossetia are ready to open, the CEC secretary Kristina Avlokhova told the “Res” news agency.
“To organize voting for the citizens of our Republic on May 8, at 8 am, 76 polling stations will be opened in South Ossetia, Moscow, Sukhum and Vladikavkaz, a total of 40,000 ballots have been printed,” Avlokhova said.
On the day of the presidential elections in the RSO, on May 8, the international press center of the Central Election Commission will be opened in Tskhinval, which will be receiving the information about the voting process.
Representatives of Russia, the DPR, the LPR, Abkhazia will be observing the second round of the presidential elections.
In particular, representatives of the State Duma, the Presidential Executive Office and the Public Chamber will arrive from Russia. The RSO Parliament also sent an invitation to the Syrian colleagues.
The first round of presidential elections in South Ossetia took place on 10 April. The current head of the Republic, Anatoly Bibilov, and the leader of the Nykhas party, Alan Gagloev, entered the second round of the presidential elections in South Ossetia, which are scheduled for May 8.
The winner will be determined by a simple majority of votes. For the second round of elections to be recognized as successful, more than 30% of the voters included in the voting lists must take part in the voting. The ballots provide an opportunity to vote against all candidates.
