From June 15 to June 18, the delegation of the Republic of South Ossetia was taking part in the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, the main theme of which - "New World - New Opportunities" - was devoted to the further functioning of the Russian economy under sanctions, and the search for new points of interaction with partner countries.
According to the press service of the Cabinet of Ministers, on the sidelines of the Forum, the delegation held a number of meetings with colleagues from the Donetsk and Lugansk People's Republics and the Republic of Abkhazia. Negotiations were also held with representatives of the Russian regions.
Acting Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Economic Development Dzambolat Tadtayev told in more detail about the participation in the forum.
“The range of topics discussed was very different. The issues of strengthening integration economic processes with the regions of the Russian Federation were mainly raised for the purpose of mutually beneficial cooperation in the sphere of trade, industry, agriculture, tourism and import substitution. The interest of South Ossetia in the implementation of joint projects that contribute to the replacement of foreign goods and components, from which the market of the Russian Federation was freed, was also indicated. We also expect an important result from the establishment of cooperation with the Russian regions on the integration of South Ossetia into the processes of organizing recreation and tourism.”
The Vice Prime Minister has also noted that the Forum, as in previous years, was held at the highest level, and expressed gratitude to the organizers for the opportunity.
“Such events help participants get acquainted with the experience of other countries, refresh approaches to solving many issues, and look at them from different points of view. After all, their relevance, efficiency and consequences, especially for such a young state as ours, largely depend on the adoption of the right managerial decision, not only in the economy, but also in other sectors and areas.
According to Dzambolat Tadtaev, one of the important topics of discussion was the issues of improving international financial legislation.
“Colleagues from Belarus and Russia at the session acquainted us with the processes of harmonization of financial legislation in the framework of the creation of a union state. Given the considerable amount of work in the designated area that we need to carry out jointly with the Russian Federation as part of the implementation of the State Program for Socio-Economic Development of the Republic of South Ossetia for 2022-2025, much has become clearer to us. Now all these issues need to be worked out with the authorized bodies of the Republic, taking into account the interests and characteristics of South Ossetia,” Dzambolat Tadtaev has summed up.
It should be noted that as part of the delegation from South Ossetia, headed by Acting. Prime Minister Gennady Bekoev was also Ambassador of the Republic of South Ossetia to the Russian Federation Znaur Gassiev and the trade representative of the Republic of South Ossetia in the Russian Federation Taimuraz Goginov.
