The systematic advancement of the foreign policy positions of South Ossetia is the main goal of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic, Akhsar Dzhioev, the head of the RSO Foreign Ministry, said at the briefing in Tskhinval.
“Today, South Ossetia is recognized by some countries, including countries on the Latin continent, the region of Oceania. The geography is wide, we will be systematically building and developing relations with other countries too.
There are contacts, some ties. But the specifics of our work lie in the fact that they are not previously voiced.
We continue to work in this direction, we have hope that eventually the geography of the countries that have recognized our Republic will expand, and South Ossetia will be strengthening its foreign policy positions,” the Foreign Minister said.
According to him, South Ossetia is ethnically represented in many countries, the Foreign Ministry will continue to develop relations with the Ossetian diasporas.
“For example, we have a representative in the Netherlands, Radion Pukhaev, who is actively working. Unfortunately, modern realities do not allow him to hold various events on such a large scale as it was before. But he is trying, and his activities cover the whole of Europe, including in terms of working with ethical Ossetians,” the Minister has stressed.
