Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of South Ossetia to Russia Znaur Gassiev, on the invitation of Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, took part in the briefing dedicated to the upcoming UN General Assembly in New York, the press service of the South Ossetian Embassy in Russia reports.
“During the meeting with accredited ambassadors of foreign states, Lavrov has noted that there is an accumulation of crisis processes in the world that are associated both with the economic policy of Western countries and with the “undermining the foundations on which the entire system of globalization was based,” the press release said.
According to Lavrov, "high-level events are starting this week, during which tough assessments of certain actions of various states will be made, and, probably, there is no getting away from it."
“But still, the UN was created not only for polemical exercises, but also in order to fulfill the requirements of its charter,” Lavrov said.
As part of the briefing, foreign diplomats had the opportunity to ask the Russian Foreign Minister questions related to issues on the global agenda.
