The next, 111th meeting in the format of Incident Prevention and Response Mechanisms (IPRM) will be held as usual - on March 2, Deputy Plenipotentiary Representative of the President for Post-Conflict Resolution, head of the South Ossetian delegation to the IPRM Yegor Kochiev told IA “Res” .
The meeting will be traditionally held in the border village of Ergnet. According to Kochiev, the agenda will remain unchanged - the main issue that the South Ossetian party has been raising for several years is the removal of the illegal Georgian police post from the territory of South Ossetia, established at the end of August 2019.
“South Ossetia considers the solution of the issue only in the removal of the post. Also, during the meeting, security issues, violations of the state border will be raised, an overview of the general situation in the region will be made,” the head of the South Ossetian delegation has emphasized.
The format of the Incident Prevention and Response Mechanism is intended to consider the issues related to security on the state border of South Ossetia with Georgia. In addition, the "hot line" is actively working, and in the event of any incident, the parties contact their colleagues on it.
The need for the IPRM format has been noted by diplomats more than once; it is aimed at resolving the issues of the residents of the border area.
Meetings in the IPRM format are held within the framework of the Geneva discussions on security in the Caucasus. The dialogue is attended by representatives of South Ossetia, Russia, Georgia, the European Union and the OSCE.
