The South Ossetian choreographic group "Iron", the folk dance group "Fidan" from North Ossetia and the folk group "Rodoslav" from Luansk for the first time held a joint concert "Peace-Dance-Friendship" on the stage of the South Ossetian State Drama Theater in Tskhinval.
The dance festival was opened by the famous Ossetian folk dance "Simd" performed by the "Iron" group. About 15 numbers were shown to the audience this evening. Seven of them – "Simd", "Honga", "Gorsky", etc. – were performed by "Iron".
The artistic directors of the groups "Rodoslav" Tamara Semyonova, "Fidan" Arkady Takaev and "Iron" Diana Khugaeva were awarded letters of thanks on behalf of the Committee on Youth Policy and Sports, and several dancers of the groups were awarded diplomas on behalf of the Committee.
Deputy Chairman of the Committee on Youth Policy and Sports Valentina Gatikoeva thanked the leaders of the groups for their contribution to the development of national culture, and the artists for the dance festival.
“Today we have gathered not only by the World Dance Day. At this celebration of dance and friendship, we were brought together by our common desire to live and create for the benefit of our republics. Thanks to your sincere love for the Motherland, we hope for a happy future,” Gatikoeva said.
The event was dedicated to the World Dance Day. A similar concert of three teams was held the day before in North Ossetia at the Youth Palace.
