South Ossetia views joining the Union State as a very important and promising option for the development of the state, Vyacheslav Gobozov, State Advisor to President, said during the Moscow-Tskhinval video conference.
"At the official level, we have a very limited range of actions, but at the unofficial level - in the field of culture, sports, and the expert community - we have contacts with the Republic of Belarus. Recently, the head of our Ministry of Foreign Affairs met with representatives of the structures of the Union State," Gobozov said.
He has noted that the Republic is trying to do everything to activate its foreign policy position. Gobozov has also expressed confidence that the issue of South Ossetia's joining the Union State will sooner or later be on the political agenda.
