President of South Ossetia Alan Gagloev sent a telegram of condolences to the leader of the Republic of Nicaragua Daniel Ortega in connection with the death of his brother, retired General Humberto Ortega Saavedra. This was reported by the press service of the head of state.
Alan Gagloev has noted that South Ossetia deeply respects the contribution of Humberto Ortega Saavedra to the struggle of the heroic people of Nicaragua against the Somoza dictatorship, in support and victory of the Sandinista revolution.
“I am confident that his merits are forever inscribed in the history of the country and will remain in the memory of the people. We are sharing the grief of this irreparable loss with the people of Nicaragua, with the family and friends of the retired General Humberto Ortega Saavedra,” the telegram reads.
