The international conference "Sociolinguistic Problems of Iranian Languages: Ossetian Language" will be held on October 15-16 at the South Ossetian State University. This was reported to the "Res" news agency by the press service of the South Ossetian State University.
"The conference will focus on a wide range of socio-linguistic issues of the Iranian-speaking area, with special attention paid to research on the Ossetian language," the press service has noted.
As part of the event, on October 16, the IV scientific school-seminar on sociolinguistics "Onto sociolinguistics: concepts, methods, tasks" will be held.
The following issues will be working out - bilingualism and multi-lingualism in the modern world: types and situations; types of speakers of national languages in modern Russia; languages and children: tasks of teaching native languages; methods of assessing language competence,” the press service of the University has clarified.
The conference is organized by the South Ossetian State University, the Institute of Linguistics of the Russian Academy of Sciences, and the Zakhary Vaneev South Ossetian Research Institute.
