South Ossetian Foreign Minister Akhsar Dzhioev received Abkhazia's Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the Republic, Alan Elbakiyev.
As reported by the press service of the Foreign Ministry, during the meeting, the parties discussed the results of the outgoing year and commended the level and content of bilateral relations in the spirit of friendship and partnership between South Ossetia and Abkhazia, including at the highest level.
The participation of South Ossetian leader Alan Gagloev in the inauguration ceremony of Abkhazia's President-elect Badra Gunba in April of this year was noted, as the visit of the official Abkhaz delegation led by President to South Ossetia to participate in the celebrations marking the 35th anniversary of the proclamation of the Republic of South Ossetia, during which a number of agreements were signed to further deepen and expand mutually beneficial cooperation.
During the meeting, held in a warm and friendly atmosphere, the commitment to further constructive interaction between the foreign ministries of the two countries was reaffirmed, including coordinating efforts with their Russian counterparts to strengthen regional stability and security.
