No any sensible person will forget the day of the Zar tragedy not only in South Ossetia, but in the whole world, for the shooting of the Ossetian ordinary citizens, including the children, by the Georgian neo-fascists cannot leave anyone indifferent. At that time I was a student of the Faculty of Journalism of the North-Ossetian State University.

1992, Tskhinval was under blockade. At all heights of the city were snipers, shelling all the streets. In connection with this situation was urgently constructed the road in Dzau (Dzausky District RSO) through the village of Zar, which was called the "lifeline." The Zar road was very rugged, with vehicle queues, but not everyone could drive and sometimes people had to walk.

Comment of the press-service of the Foreign Ministry of the Republic of South Ossetia

May 15, 2012 the newspaper "View" carried a statement of the Chairman of the Committee for Democracy, Human Rights and Humanitarian Affairs of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly Matteo Mekachchi, which he had made in Georgia. He said that OSCE "is going to restore the mission in the zone of the Georgian-Ossetian conflict" in July. This statement has caused great surprise in Tskhinval. In South Ossetia one has heard nothing about this intention of theOSCE; we have not received any form of address, so any negotiations are not being conducted with the authorities of the Republic of South Ossetia.

The delegation of South Ossetia headed by the President of the Republic Leonid Tibilov left for Sochi for participating in the South Ossetian-Russian summit talks.
As IA "Res" has been informed by the presidential administration of South Ossetia, the meeting will be held in Sochi on May 12 within the framework of the first working visit of the RSO President Leonid Tibilov to the Russian Federation.
It should be noted that the visit to Russia is the first foreign trip of Leonid Tibilov after becoming a president of South Ossetia.
