A friendly match between the South Ossetian and Serbian footballers has started In Tskhinval

A friendly football match between the South Ossetia national team and the Serbian team from Kosovo has started at the Republican Stadium, named after Guram Tskhovrebov, in Tskhinval.
The game was scheduled for August 7 – on the eve of the mourning events in the Republic timed to the fourth anniversary of the Georgian aggression against the people of South Ossetia. However, due to the objective reasons the match was postponed to August 14.

Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev has arrived in South Ossetia. In Tskhinval the distinguished guest met with the President of the Republic Leonid Tibilov.
He has welcomed the head of the Russian Government, noting that these days the Republic is commemorating one of the most tragic pages of its history - four years ago, the Georgian troops treacherously invaded South Ossetia.

July 13, South Ossetian branch of the nonprofit organization Development Fund-"Institute of the Eurasian Studies" is planning to lead in Tskhinval a round table discussion "Peacekeepers in South Ossetia: 20 Years Later."
As IA "Res" has been informed at the press service of the Fund, the event is timed to the 20th anniversary of the deployment of the Russian peacekeepers in South Ossetia.

Russian delegation headed by Deputy Secretary of the Security Council of Russia Rashid Nurgaliyev has arrived in South Ossetiaon an official visit. In Tskhinval the guests met with President Leonid Tibilovand members of the government headed by Prime Minister Rostik Khugaev. They visited a number of new facilities for household purposes, including a new plant of building materials which is under construction to the south of Tskhinval.

The 23rd meeting of the Mechanisms on Prevention and Reaction to Incidents (MPRI) has been held today in the Georgian village of Ergneti at the border of South Ossetia and Georgia.
There were two items on the agenda: a review of the incidents at the state border of South Ossetia and Georgia during the period since the MPRI previous meeting, and the possibility of mutual transferring of citizens of South Ossetia, kept in detention in Georgia, as well as the Georgian citizens, kept in detention in South Ossetia.

After the 95.64% ballot processing in the presidential election of South Ossetia Leonid Tibilov is retaining leadership; he has collected 53.74% of voters (15,257 votes). This was reported by the Chairman of the Central Election Committee of South Ossetia Bella Plieva at a briefing of the CEC Information Centre.

None of the candidates for president of South Ossetia has collected the required number of votes to win the first round. As reported by the CEC Chairman Bella Plieva at a briefing of the CEC Information Centre, according to preliminary data of the second round Leonid Tibilov, who has collected 42.48% of the vote (11,453 people) and David Sanakoev, who has collected 24.58% of voters (6627 people) will contest in the South Ossetian presidential run-off.
Dmitry Medoev who has collected 23.79% (6415 votes) and Stanislav Kochiev - 5.26% (1417 votes) have dropped out of the presidential race. 0.80% (216 electors) voted against all candidates.
