Participants of the 26 round of international discussions on security and stability in Transcaucasia, scheduled for December 18 in Geneva, will discuss the situation on the state border of Abkhazia and South Ossetia with Georgia, as well as socio-economic development of the region.
According to the Russian Foreign Ministry, the main theme of the security group is traditionally to develop reliable guarantees of non-use of force by Georgia against neighboring states;
it will continue the consideration of draft documents in this sphere, including the Russian initiative on adopting a joint declaration of all participants of the Geneva discussions on the non-use of force. Furthermore, at the Geneva meeting will be reviewed the activities of the Mechanisms for preventing and responding to incidents at the South Ossetian- Georgian and Georgian - Abkhazian border.
The humanitarian group will continue discussions on the issues of interest to the participants, including the exchange of detained persons in the border areas and the search for the missing persons.
The Geneva discussions are held since October 2008 after the armed aggression of Georgia against South Ossetia. They involve representatives of the Republic of South Ossetia, the Republic of Abkhazia, the Russian Federation, Georgia, United States of America, as well as the UN, OSCE and EU.
South Ossetian delegation is led by Presidential Envoy of the RSO for post-conflict settlement Murat Dzhioev.

Russian government's decision to expel South Ossetia from the list of countries with the difficult conditions for diplomats once again confirms that the situation in South Ossetia is stable and safe for both citizens and foreigners. This was stated by Minister of Foreign Affairs of South Ossetia David Sanakoev, commenting on the Cabinet decision of the Russian Federation adopted November 28, 2013.

Today of one of the leading media of South Ossetia - the news agency "Res"- is marking the 18th anniversary of its formation. It was created in a difficult time for the Republic - the initial period of the struggle for independence and the formation of the South Ossetian statehood.

The ninth session of the Intergovernmental Commission (IGC) on socio- economic cooperation between the Republic of South Ossetia and the Russian Federation is under way n Tskhinval.

Issues of functioning of a number of manufacturing enterprises in South Ossetia were discussed during today's meeting of the President of the Republic Leonid Tibilov with members of the government. Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of South Ossetia to the Russian Federation Dmitry Medoev took part in the inauguration of the III-rd Moscow Festival of Culture of the Peoples of the Caucasus, held October 28 in the concert hall "Izmailovo" under the auspices of the Russian Congress of Peoples of the Caucasus.

In Moscow has taken place the signing of the agreement on inter-parliamentary cooperation between the State Duma of the Russian Federation and the Parliament of the Republic of South Ossetia.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of South Ossetia David Sanakoev discussed with the Abkhazian counterpart Vyacheslav Chirikba prospects of cooperation between the two countries. According to the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of South Ossetia, the meeting was held today at the Abkhazian Foreign Ministry within the framework of the official visit of the delegation of South Ossetia to Abkhazia, on the occasion of the Independence Day and the 20th anniversary of the victory of the Abkhazian people in the Patriotic War 1992-1993.
