Two Georgian citizens were detained in South Ossetia for violation of the state border of the Republic. As the news agency, "Res" was informed at the press service of the KGB of South Ossetia, "currently, citizens of Georgia Zaza Khidasheli and Malhaz Edisherashvili are at the Border Service Agency of the KGB of South Ossetia. The detainees are under investigation to establish the circumstances of violating the state border of the Republic."

To simplify the procedure of customs clearance of commercial goods transported through the Russian-South Ossetian border checkpoint near the "Lower Zaramag" (North Ossetia) it is planned to open an office of special customs representatives (brokers).

South Ossetia is expecting much from the current, seventh session of the Intergovernmental Commission (IGC) on socio-economic cooperation between South Ossetia and Russia. This was stated by the President of South Ossetia Leonid Tibilov during the seventh meeting of the IGC, being held in Tskhinval.
"People of South Ossetia put great hopes on the IGC and attach more importance to this meeting," - said the head of state.

Russia recognized the independence of South Ossetia and Abkhazia (August 26, 2008) to ensure the safety and survival of the peoples of both republics. South Ossetian President Leonid Tibilov and Deputy Secretary of the Security Council of Russia Rashid Nurgaliev, who is in the Republic on a working visit, have gone today to Leningor district of South Ossetia, where they intend to become acquainted with the construction of infrastructure and social facilities.

A citizen of South Ossetia Tamaz Kachmazov, released from the Georgian prison, has returned today to the Republic and has met with his family in Tskhinval. This year it was the fourth release of our compatriot from the Georgian captivity. Tamaz Kachmazov was released from a Georgian prison yesterday, March 1.

Another citizen of South Ossetia -KachmazovTamazTengizovich, born in 1983- was released from prison in Georgia.

The Russian Federation will continue to support the statehood and sovereignty of the Republic of South Ossetia, regardless of the context of the Russian-Georgian relations. The mourning ceremony of laying wreaths and flowers at the place of death and at the graves of the fallen defenders of South Ossetia was held in Tskhinval. The ceremony was attended by President of the Republic Leonid Tibilov, government officials, members of Parliament, a delegation of visitors from Russia and Abkhazia.
