The recognition of the sovereignty of South Ossetia proceeds from the principled policy of Syria, which is based on respect for the will of the people, self-determination and categorical rejection of any foreign interference in the internal affairs of the state. This was stated by Ambassador of the SAR to Russia Bashar Jafari, speaking in Tskhinval at the celebration of the Day of the Republic of South Ossetia.

The closest, kindred relations have developed between South Ossetia and the Karachay-Cherkessia Republic. This was noted by President Alan Gagloev at the meeting with the delegation of the Karachay-Cherkessia Republic headed by Minister of Property and Land Relations Roman Baskaev, who arrived in Tskhinval to participate in the celebration of the Day of the Republic of South Ossetia.

President Alan Gagloev has met with the delegation of the Republic of Abkhazia headed by Minister of Justice Anri Bartsits, who arrived in Tskhinval to participate in the festive events in honor of the Day of the Republic of South Ossetia.

According to the press service of the Head of State, Alan Gagloev has warmly welcomed the guests from Abkhazia, having emphasized that today the young South Ossetian state is celebrating a significant and truly historical holiday – the Republic Day.

South Ossetia and Syria signed the agreement on law enforcement cooperation.

The signing took place during the visit of the Syrian delegation to Tskhinval to participate in the celebration of the Republic Day.

The document was signed by Minister of Internal Affairs of the Republic of South Ossetia Alan Guchmazov and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the SAR to the Russian Federation Bashar Jafari.

The agreement provides for cooperation between the law enforcement agencies of the two countries.

During the heroic years of the struggle for freedom and the establishment of the statehood of South Ossetia, the people showed the greatest courage, fortitude, dedication, unwavering will and readiness, not sparing their lives, to achieve the intended goal, - President Alan Gagloev, said, speaking at the parade to mark the 34th anniversary of the proclamation of the Republic.

On the difficult path of building stable democratic institutions, South Ossetia faced unprecedented external pressure, and in the difficult August days of 2008 - unprovoked aggression. This is stated in the congratulation of the Russian Foreign Ministry in connection with the 34th anniversary of the formation of the Republic of South Ossetia.

On Friday, South Ossetia is celebrating one of the main holidays – the Republic Day. On September 20, 1990, South Ossetian people's deputies adopted the Declaration of Sovereignty of the Republic.

Oil exploration has been launched in the village of Grom in Tskhinval district of South Ossetia on Thursday.

The event was launched by the head of the Republic, Alan Gagloev, and President of the Stroyprogress Group of Companies, Albert Dzhussoev.

A ceremonial event dedicated to the National Flag Day of the Republic of South Ossetia was held on the Theater Square of the hero city of Tskhinval.

The official ceremony of raising the national flag of the Republic took place at the beginning of the event.

The event was attended by the leadership of the Republic, headed by President Alan Gagloev, the heads of ministries and departments, the Russian Ambassador to South Ossetia Marat Kulakhmetov, as well as the public of the Republic.

The Ossetian flag united the nation and led the way, in a short time becoming a recognized unifying and representative symbol of Alania. This is stated in the address of President of South Ossetia Alan Gagloev on the occasion of the celebration of the Day of the State Flag.

Gagloev has emphasized that the white-red-yellow Alanian tricolor was recreated by participants in the movement to protect the rights of the people of South Ossetia.
