Easter Sunday is being celebrated in South Ossetia

The Orthodox people of South Ossetia are celebrating Easter Sunday. On Sunday night at the Cathedral of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Tskhinval took place a festive liturgy, chanted by the archpriest of the Tskhinval churches Jacob Khetagurov.
The liturgy was attended by the President of South Ossetia Leonid Tibilov, Parliament Speaker Anatoly Bibilov, representatives of the Government and Parliament of the Republic, as well as the Orthodox of South Ossetia.

Hundreds of the faithful gathered on the church square, taking part in a cross procession around the temple. At the end of the liturgy the priest congratulated the Orthodox parishioners, noting that the Holy Easter is celebrated as a symbol to begin a new life.
"Easter is a celebration of joy, celebration of life, we will pray for the wellbeing, and thank the Lord for peace," - said the priest.

Leonid Tibilov addressed the people of the Republic wishing them peace and kindness.
"I want to wish all the citizens health, peace, prosperity, strength of mind and God's help in all matters. Christ is risen! "- Said the head of state.

After the solemn liturgy the priests of the Alan diocese traditionally consecrated Easter cakes and eggs, and then the parishioners congratulated each other on Easter.

State Committee for Information and Press of South Ossetia and International News Agency "Russia Today" signed a Cooperation Agreement

State Committee of Information and Press of South Ossetia and International News Agency "Russia Today" have agreed on cooperation to broader and more effective coverage of important events in political, social, economic, cultural, scientific, educational, sports and other areas of Russia and South Ossetia.
The relevant "Agreement on information cooperation" was signed on April 8 in Moscow by the Chairman of the RSO State Committee of Information and Press of South Ossetia Vyacheslav Gobozov and CEO of International News Agency "Russia Today" Dmitry Kiselev.
According to the document, "Russia Today" opens representative office in South Ossetia, to which the South Ossetian news agency has promised to "create favorable conditions" for working.
It is also expected to organize and conduct on the basis of the agency or its partner’s internships, workshops and seminars on retraining of journalists’ media of the RSO. In addition, "Russia Today" will facilitate direct contacts and cooperation of South Ossetia with the media of the Russian Federation and other countries.
The Agreement also states that representatives of the Republic of South Ossetia will take part in international events held under the auspices of "Russia Today", and representatives of the news - in actions and activities held by the public authorities of South Ossetia.

Leonid Tibilov received Russian Deputy Interior Minister Igor Zubov

South Ossetian President Leonid Tibilov has received today in Tskhinval Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation Igor Zubov, who has arrived in the Republic on a working visit.

President Leonid Tibilov had a working meeting with Oleg Govorun

South Ossetian President Leonid Tibilov has met with the head of Department of the President of the Russian Federation for socio-economic cooperation with the states - members of the CIS, the Republic of South Ossetia and Abkhazia Oleg Govorun, who is in the Republic on a working visit.
During the meeting Leonid Tibilov has stressed that 2014 was a good year in terms of implementation of the investment program to promote socio-economic development of South Ossetia in the past year.
"Today, we carefully study the emerging issues related to the implementation of the Investment program for 2015, so that the year 2015 should become more successful," - said the president.
In turn, Oleg Govorun has also noted that in 2014 the implementation of the investment program to promote socio-economic development of South Ossetia was completed successfully.
During the meeting was also discussed the construction of the State Drama Theatre, which is one of the most important facilities of South Ossetia.
"You can be assured that with joint efforts, it will be rebuilt, becoming the national heritage of the Republic," - said Oleg Govorun.

Minister of Culture of South Ossetia took part in the opening of the exhibition of the Ossetian artists in Moscow

April 8, Minister of Culture of South Ossetia Madina Ostaeva took part in the opening of the exhibition of works of Ossetian artists "Arv-Art" "Reflection of Europe" in Moscow.

South Ossetia is celebrating Constitution Day

Today South Ossetia is celebrating one of the most important dates in the history of the Republic - Constitution Day. The Basic Law of the Republic was adopted in a national referendum by a vote on April 8, 2001. The Constitution of the Republic of South Ossetia from that moment became the basis for building a democratic and legal state.
The Basic Law provides for foundations of the constitutional system, the rights, freedoms and duties of a man and a citizen, formulates a system of power structures of South Ossetia.
Since 2001, the Basic Law has undergone many changes; amendments were made to it in 2001, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2009, and 2010. Recent changes to the Constitution were introduced in April 2011. It should be noted that prior to April 2001 in South Ossetia acted the Basic Law, adopted on November 2, 1993, which initiated the development of the legal framework of South Ossetia. The Constitution of South Ossetia, as the foundation of the country, should be the law, which must know every citizen of the Republic. In addition, the Constitution must be the guarantor of the country's unity, further comprehensive development of the independent Republic of South Ossetia.
The first page of the Constitution of the Republic runs as follows:

Leonid Tibilov: The Treaty of Alliance and Integration between South Ossetia and Russia is of strategic scale and historical significance

In Tskhinval was held a session of the Parliament of South Ossetia, in the course of which was ratified the Treaty of Alliance and Integration between South Ossetia and the Russian Federation.
The meeting was attended by the President of South Ossetia Leonid Tibilov, deputy of the State Duma of Russia Kazbek Taisaev, as well as the deputies of all convocations of the South Ossetian Parliament, members of the public.
Assessing the importance of the Treaty for South Ossetia, Leonid Tibilov has noted that the document is of "strategic scale and historical significance."
"I am very pleased to participate in today's meeting of the session of the Parliament of the Republic of South Ossetia when considering the ratification of the Treaty of Alliance and Integration, signed March 18, 2015. Today we will create a legal basis for the countdown to start the practical implementation of the Treaty - the president said. - Assessing the significance of the Treaty for our country, we can say without exaggeration that this document is of strategic scale and historical significance. It fully complies with the norms and principles of the modern international law, aimed at strengthening the alliance and transition to a new level of interstate relations. The Treaty specifies the basic provisions of the Treaty of Friendship, Cooperation and Mutual Assistance between the Republic of South Ossetia and the Russian Federation dated September 17, 2008, extending the framework of juridical structure.
The Treaty provides for the formation of a common space of defense and security, concerted foreign policy, the establishment of a joint information and coordination centre of the bodies of internal Affairs, as well as the integration of the customs authorities of the Republic of South Ossetia with the customs authorities of the Russian Federation. "
According to the head of state, the Treaty confirms the further measures implemented by the Russian Federation to promote socio-economic development of our Republic.
"The Treaty provides for a simplified procedure for the citizens of the Republic of South Ossetia to acquire Russian citizenship, as well as the gradual bringing the level of wages of public sector employees and pensions to a level comparable with the level of wages and pensions in the North Caucasus Federal District of the Russian Federation - the president said. - In accordance with the Treaty the Russian Federation will provide assistance to the Republic of South Ossetia in the development of education and science, culture, Ossetian and Russian languages, sports and tourism. "
Speaker of the Parliament of South Ossetia Anatoly Bibilov has also noted the importance of the Treaty.
"Of course, today is a very significant event - said Bibilov. - Our people have been aspiring to it for a long time, to ensure that the achievements and the agreements, recognition, including the period of work of all parliaments, all the presidents of the Republic, will lead to maximum integration with Russian federation. I am convinced that we will reach the goals and objectives voiced by the President of the Republic; the more is the desire and aspiration of the people of South Ossetia. According to the Chairman of the Committee on Foreign Relations and Inter-Parliamentary Relations of the Parliament of South Ossetia Igor Kochiev, April 1, in accordance with Article 15 of the Law of the Republic of South Ossetia "On international treaties of the Republic of South Ossetia," the President of the Republic of South Ossetia submitted to the Parliament for ratification the Treaty of Alliance and Integration, signed in Moscow on March 18, 2015.
"The main areas of alliance and integration are -coordinated foreign policy, creating conditions for South Ossetia to participate in the international arena, the creation of a common space of security and defense, providing further economic development of the Republic, improving the welfare of our citizens. The Treaty is concluded for 25 years with the possibility of automatic renewal for the next 10-year period, "- said Kochiev.
Following the Kochiev`s report for ratification of the Treaty unanimously voted all 34 MPs.
Deputy of the four parliamentary convocations Tarzan Kokoity congratulated the people of South Ossetia on the ratification of the Treaty.
"Today has been ratified a very important document, - Kokoity said. - Thanks to this document will be provided security of our nation, the Republic will be protected, that, in my opinion, is the most important thing. I want to congratulate on this momentous occasion the President of the Republic, the people of South Ossetia, the leadership and members of Parliament, all those who prepared the document and submitted it to the session of the Parliament. "
Deputy of the State Duma of Russia Kazbek Taisaev welcomed the participants and guests of the meeting on behalf of the Chairman and members of the State Duma of Russia, noting the importance of today's event.

President Leonid Tibilov introduced to the Parliament of the RSO for ratification the Agreement on Alliance and Integration between the Republic of South Ossetia and the Russian Federation
