On Friday Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Andrei Rudenko discussed with the co-chairs of the International Geneva Discussions on Security and Stability in Transcaucasia – the EU Special Representative for the South Caucasus Toivo Klaar and the OSCE Representative for the South Caucasus Rudolf Mikhalka security issues in the region, in particular the situation in the Georgian-Abkhaz and Georgian-South Ossetian borders.

In South Ossetia 61 new cases of COVID-19 infection have been detected in a day

Powerlifter from South Ossetia Sarmat Ikaev will go to the European Cup

A well-known South Ossetian powerlifter Sarmat Ikaev will perform at the European Cup. The athlete himself informed the IA "Res" about it.

The sporting event will take place on December 12 in Novorossiysk. Now the athlete is undergoing training in South Ossetia.

“Recently there was a training camp in Kislovodsk, I got sick, and it knocked me out of my usual sports form a little, but now everything is fine. I am diligently preparing for competitions, I am training in a sports school in Tskhinval,” Ikaev noted.

68 new cases of COVID-19 infection have been detected in South Ossetia in a day

In South Ossetia, 183 people have been tested for COVID-1; 68 tests showed a positive result, the Republic's chief sanitary doctor Marina Kochieva told IA "Res".

“68 new cases of COVID-19 infection have been detected in South Ossetia in a day. 9 people were discharged from the medical institutions in a day, in total, 92 people have recovered since mid-September,” Kochieva said.

193 people undergo treatment in the "red zone" of the RMMC in Tskhinval

193 people with radiologically confirmed viral pneumonia are being treated in the "red zone" of the Republican Multidisciplinary Center in Tskhinval, the head physician of the RMMC Indira Bichenova told IA "Res"

“There are 193 people with pneumonia in the RMMC, 11 people are in critical condition in intensive care, 54 patients undergo treatment in the military field hospital,” Bichenova said.

It should be noted that two patients aged 67-68 years also died in a day, the patients had bilateral pneumonia, in total, to date, there are 14 deaths.

Doctors from St. Petersburg are providing assistance to South Ossetia to combat COVID-19

In South Ossetia, on the invitation of the Health Ministry of the Republic in coordination with the relevant Russian department, there are doctors from St. Petersburg, said the Health Minister of the Republic Georgy Totchiev.

“Russian specialists from the Pavlov St. Petersburg Medical University are participating in the work of the reception and triage center for patients with coronavirus.
