The number of cases of coronavirus in South Ossetia reaches more than 2.4 thousand, there are 49 new ones

Since January 6, 146 people have been tested for coronavirus infection in the PCR laboratory of the South Ossetian Consumer Supervision Committee, 49 of them are newly diagnosed cases that showed a positive result, the head of the Committee Marina Kochieva IA "Res." on Tuesday.

"The number of patients with a new coronavirus infection in the Republic has reached 2424. 1619 people have been removed from the medical register with a negative test for COVID-19," Kochieva said. "805 patients remain under medical supervision."

62 patients are being treated in the "red zones" of hospitals in South Ossetia, five in the intensive care unit

Over the past day, three patients with coronavirus have been hospitalized in the "red zones" of the Republican Multidisciplinary Medical Center of South Ossetia, four people have been discharged for outpatient follow-up care, the Republic's chief infectious disease specialist Eleonora Dzhioeva told Res.

According to her, 62 patients diagnosed with COVID-19 are being treated in the "red zones" of the Republic's medical center as of January 12.
