South Ossetia appeals to the EU to prevent provocations of Georgia

The Georgian leadership has been planning to carry out large- scale provocation on the South-Ossetian-Georgian frontier at the end of August. It has been reported to the news agency "Res" at the department of the Plenipotentiary of the RSO President on post conflict settlement. In this connection the Plenipotentiary of the RSO President on post conflict settlement Boris Chochiev has sent a letter to the head of the European Union Mission of Observers Andrzej Tyshkevich; the letter contains appeal to the EU observers to verify the information and take measures of preventing realization of the next provocation by the official Tbilisi.

KGB of the RSO is ready for possible aggravation of situation on the border

The Georgian leadership has been planning to carry out large- scale provocation on the South-Ossetian-Georgian frontier at the end of August. It has been reported to the news agency "Res" at the department of the Plenipotentiary of the RSO President on post conflict settlement. In this connection, the agency has addressed to the RSO KGB press-service for comments. It has been noted there, that the department repeatedly received the similar information concerning the plans of Georgia to organize provocations in the frontier area.

The cases of three citizens of Georgia, having violated the state border, are submitted to the public prosecutor's office of the RSO

The investigatory subdivision of the KGB of South Ossetia has submitted materials to the public prosecutor's office of the Republic for decision-making about beginning criminal proceedings against three citizens of Georgia according to illegal crossing of the frontier of the Republic of South Ossetia. It has been reported to the news agency "Res" at the KGB of the RSO press-service.

Parliament of the RSO has appointed the members of the new Central Election Committee

The Parliament of South Ossetia has confirmed a parliamentary quota of the Central Election Committee members of the Republic in number of seven persons at today's session. According to the Speaker of the Parliament Stanislav Kochiev, three candidates of the party "Unity", two candidates of the People`s Party and two of the Communist Party are presented to the Central Electoral Committee by arrangement of the fractions.

Presidential elections in South Ossetia have been scheduled for November, 13

Today the Parliament of the Republic of South Ossetia has scheduled the presidential election of the RSO for November, 13, 2011. According to the Speaker of the Parliament of the Republic Stanislav Kochiev, the presidential elections will pass on the second Sunday of November, on the expiry of the term of powers of the President in accordance with the Constitution of South Ossetia. Deputies of the Parliament have unanimously supported this question.
