The leadership of South Ossetia highly appreciates the role of the Geneva debates on safety in Transcaucasia and is ready for further dialogue in this format. It has been declared by the Deputy Prime-Minister of South Ossetia Domenty Kulumbegov in the course of the meeting with the co-chairmen of the Geneva debates, who have arrived in the Republic with a working visit. "The president, the parliament and the government of South Ossetia highly appreciate the format of the Geneva debates, and we again officially confirm our readiness for participation in the discussions. We hope the Geneva debates will become the platform, where we can discuss our problems and find out mutually acceptable ways out of the situation", - has said Kulumbegov.

The next bilateral meeting of the representatives of South Ossetia, Russia and Georgia has taken place in the village Dvani under the aegis of the International Committee of the Red Cross. This action has been organized by the Border Management of the FSS of the RF in the RSO with the assistance of the Administration of the President of the RSO. President Eduard Kokoity, heads of the ministries and departments of the RSO, the servicemen, officers, representatives of the Border management of the FSS of the RF in the RSO and the 4-th russian military base, as well as the inhabitants of the Republic have called on the "Soldier`s halt» «to congratulate the veterans with this beautiful holiday. The President of the Republic has expressed great thanks to the organizers of the action, and wished the veterans long years of life.

The investigation group of the Peacemaking mission named after general Lebed has proceed to searching for people missing in the course of the georgian-ossetian conflict in 1989-2008y.y. As a Chairman of the Council of the Peacemaking mission Alexander Mukomolov informed IA «Res», the actions of the investigators had been coordinated with the leadership of South Ossetia and the law-enforcement structures of the Republic. "At the point we are collecting samples of blood group of the relatives of the missing people to create a genetic and information data base of the Republic. The works on identification of the remains and the samples of blood will be conducted in the Russian centre of the judicial-medical expertise", - has reported Mukomolov. According to his words, the financing of the process of searching for the missing people has been allotted from the grant of the President of Russia, and is being realized by the Public Chamber of the RF.

From the 17 May 2011 the process of issuing passports will start in South Ossetia. It has been declared by the President of South Ossetia Eduard Kokoity in the course of the meeting with the representatives of the law-enforcement bodies of the RSO. Having heard the information of the relevant structures about their readiness to start issuing passports to the population of the Republic, the Head of the state has entrusted to the government, the preparation of all the normative- legal acts and begin issuing passports of the citizens of the Republic of South Ossetia with the graduates .of schools since 17 May 2011. As reported by the Head of the state, the passports will be issuing in strict accordance to the Law and the Constitution of the RSO. "And they will be granted only on the territory of South Ossetia", - has declared the president, having noted that the passports earlier issued will be exempted. "The category of our people, who cannot give the documents of confirmation of the citizenship (specified in the list of necessary documents for receiving the passport of a citizen of the RSO) and having the passport of the citizen of the RSO, will undergo separate procedure", - has emphasized Eduard Kokoity.
