At the 4th Russian military base of the Southern Military District stationed in South Ossetia took place a solemn parade of the contingent on the occasion of the Defender of the Fatherland Day. The event was attended by the President of South Ossetia Leonid Tibilov, Commander of the fourth military base Mikhail Polishchuk, Acting Defense Minister of South Ossetia, Lieutenant-General Valery Yakhnovets, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Russia to South Ossetia Elbrus Kargiev.

South Ossetian President Leonid Tibilov and Russian Presidential Aide Vladislav Surkov who has arrived in the Republic on a working visit, have inspected today the facilities under construction in the center of Tskhinval and discussed general plan of the town development.

As the news agency " Res" has been reported by the program organizer, the head of the International non-profit association «Renaissance Sandidzan» Radion Pukhaev, in the Turkish capital were held round tables, exhibitions, book presentations, performed Ossetian musicians.
"The events took place at a very high level - said Pukhaev. - They culminated in the exhibition of the Ossetian artists "Art-Art", which has drawn a wide response. The exhibition was supposed to close on January 31, but at the request of the owners of the gallery, it was extended."
Pukhaev has noted that the program "Days of Ossetian culture in Europe" will be continued in Paris, Brussels, Rome.
"The purpose of our activities is to acquaint the world community with the Ossetian culture, school of painting and Ossetia as a whole, the establishment of closer cultural ties between Ossetia and Europe,"- said Pukhaev.
He has added that this summer in Tskhinval, Vladikavkaz, Sukhum and Moscow is planned to hold a series of exhibitions "Europe through the eyes of Ossetian artists."
