President of South Ossetia, Anatoly Bibilov, left for the village of Uista (formerly Tsnelis) in Znaur district of the Republic, in the vicinity of which an illegal checkpoint is being built by the Georgian side to learnthe situation on the spot, the presidential press service reports.

The President talked with villagers who are worried about the provocation carried out by the Georgian side on the state border of the Republic of South Ossetia and Georgia.

Anatoly Bibilov assured the residents that nothing threatened the village of Tsnelis.

The State Security Committee of South Ossetia on Wednesday adopted another statement in connection with the provocative actions of the Georgian side in the border zone.

Georgian police should immediately leave the borders of the village of Tsnelis of South Ossetia, said Zaza Driaev, head of the South Ossetian Parliament’s Committee on Foreign Policy and Inter-Parliamentary Relations.

According to the deputy, it is necessary to warn the Georgian side about the inadmissibility of such steps and give them time to go beyond the borders of South Ossetia, and then post there.

"It will be fair if we set up our posts where the border of the South Ossetian Autonomous Region previously ran," Driaev said.

An algorithm for further joint steps will be determined at the first meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission

The delegation of South Ossetia led by Deputy Prime Minister- Minister of Economic Development Gennady Bekoev met in Damascus with Deputy Minister of Economy and Foreign Trade of Syria, Khaled Abo Faker, as well as with the heads of the leading Syrian industrial companies, IT technology, air transportation and pharmaceuticals , the IA "Res" was informed by the press service of the government.

The delegation of South Ossetia, headed by Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Economic Development Gennady Bekoev, left for the Syrian Arab Republic, where the 61st Damascus Fair is being held, the press service of the government of the Republic reports.

On August 26, South Ossetia celebrated one of the most significant dates in its history - the Day of recognition of the state independence of the Republic of South Ossetia by the Russian Federation.

This day the people of our Republic waited, suffered for many decades, went through wars periodically unleashed against South Ossetia by Georgia. The victory was reached at the cost of thousands of lives of civilians and defenders of the Fatherland, crippled fates and the bitter fate of missing citizens.

The past years have shown that the decision made by the Russian leadership that was crucial for the South Ossetian people to recognize them was legally sound and politically balanced, said President of South Ossetia Anatoly Bibilov.

The delegation of South Ossetia, led by First Deputy Chairman of the Parliament of the Republic Peter Gassiev, laid wreaths at the memorial of the first President of Abkhazia Vladislav Ardzinba located in the village of Lower Eschera, Sukhum district, and the memorial of the second President of Abkhazia Sergey Bagapsh, in the village of Dzhgyarda, according to the official website of the Parliament.
