The Mission of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) in South Ossetia is planning to hold explanatory discussions with the population of the Republic due to the threat of mines and other explosive shells, left in the territory of South Ossetia since the war in August 2008. This decision was made by the ICRC management after the accident, in the result of which on November 24 a resident of the Ossetian village of Mugut (Znaur district, South Ossetia) had been blown up by a mine, while grazing cattle.

According to her, the strategy will consist of several programs.

This has been declared at a press conference in Tskhinval by Deputy Minister of Regional Development of Russia Sergey Vereshchagin, who has arrived in the Republic on a working visit.

The mission of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) in South Ossetia has started a construction of a new clinic in the village of Zakkor in Leningor District of the RSO. As IA "Res" has been informed by a spokesperson of the mission Marina Tedeti, "the building of health center in the village became dilapidated and was not more suitable for further use. The local authorities have asked us to help them in building a new health center and the management of the missionhas shown sympathetic understanding of the problem, "- said Tedeti.
