The agenda of the 23 Round of the Geneva Talks was discussed in Tskhinval

The agenda of the next round of the Geneva talks on security in Transcaucasia was discussed by the South Ossetian delegation and the co-chairs at the meeting held in Tskhinval. The meeting was attended by the OSCE co-chair Andre Deshitsa, the EU co-chair Philippe Lefort and the UN co-chair Antti Turunen, representatives of UNHCR and the European Commission.

South Ossetian side was represented by Presidential Envoy for post-conflict settlement Murat Dzhioev, Deputy Presidential Envoy Khokh Gagloyty, Deputy Foreign Minister Kazbulat Tskhovrebov, ombudsman Inal Tasoev.
Murat Dzhioev welcomed the visitors, stressing the importance of the Geneva process.
"For the people of South Ossetia, who suffered much hardship, peace is very important, and all that is done for peace and tranquility is important to us," - said the envoy.
He has also noted that people of the Republic have been observing with interest the progress of the discussions, expecting positive results in this format, first of all – drafting a document on the non-use of force by Georgia against South Ossetia.
"Negotiations are not easy, often the interests of the parties clash, but that is for what the talks are held- toclear up all misunderstanding systematically," - said Dzhioev.
He added that the leadership of the Republic had been closely observing the activities of the Geneva discussions, appreciating positively the work done.
In turn, the EU co-chair Philippe Lefort has said that the co-chairs have some ideas and suggestions for the upcoming round of discussions.
"We also have good news concerning the settlement of problems in the humanitarian field," - he added.
It should be noted that today it is also planned to hold meetings of the co-chairs with representatives of the national communities. Then the guests will visit the water intake in Znaur.
The 23rd round of the Geneva international discussions is scheduled for March 26-27, 2013.
