The population of Tskhinval is worried about uninterrupted water supply to Tskhinval. With this question the correspondent of “Res” agency approached Mayor of the capital Vadim Tskhovrebov.
“As for water supply to the population one of the reasons of water shortage is that the water line to the capital is going through the Georgian enclave, part of Transkam Tamarasheni-Kekhvi, the residents of those villages are making illegal cuts in the water pipelines and in summer time are using potable water for irrigation of their spots of land. The authorities of those villages are not controlling the situation and cannot insure the pipeline safety,” –he said.
According to Vadim Tskhovrebov, “if the violations from the Georgian side are not going to stop, the Mayors Office will have to punish the guilty. Despite the efforts of some forces in Georgia that would like to use the situation for political purposes and provoke us to take harsh measures, the Mayor’s Office is going to solve this issue by having a dialogue with the population”.
