The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, expressing extreme concern, is compelled again to pay the attention of the international community to the absolutely inadmissible in conditions of the extremely intensed georgian-ossetian relations actions of the Georgian side, directed at putting rough pressure upon South Ossetia.
As a result of the deliberate and serious damage of the Tskhinval sluice, passing along the piece of the Trans-Caucasian main Kekhvi-Тamarasheni, occupied by the Georgian armed formations, the town Tskhinval does not receive water the sixth day. The extreme lack of potable water in the established unusually hot weather for this season puts the town dwellers into an emergency, threatening with humanitarian accident.
The representatives of the power structures of Georgia do not admit the experts to the damaged site of the sluice, threatening the repair brigades with using arms. As a condition of resumption of water supply the Georgian side puts in claims the absurd and absolutely unacceptable political requirements, connected with the recognition of the so-called «temporary territorial unit », the management of which is on the same site of the Trans-Caucasian main, in the georgian-populated village Kurta under the protection of the special troops of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia.
All the parties in the negotiating format, the Mission of OSCE and the command of JPKF have been immediately informed about the created situation.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs again addresses to all the parties, interested in normalization of the georgian-ossetian relations, to make the necessary influence on the Georgian management and resolutely to call it to show prudence in the created critical situation and to refuse the plans of further aggravation of relations between the neighbouring states.
The continuation of the policy of confrontation by Georgia compels the authority of South Ossetia Republic to application of the necessary reciprocal measures, for the possible negative consequences of which the Georgian side will completely be responsible.
