The rotation of the georgian battalion of JPKF is carried out with infringement of the accepted by the parties agreements, the assistant of the commander of JPKF on contacts with mass-media the lieutenant colonel Juriy Vereshchak has declared.
«On September, 1st, 2007 the rotation of the peace-making battalion of the peace-making forces from Georgia, being in the zone of the conflict, has been carried out. The Command of JPKF has received a notification from the co-chairman of JCC from the georgian side Dmitriy Mandzhavidze on August, 30th 2007 for № 4-9/549. The rotation is carried out with infringement of the accepted by the parties’ agreements. I remind, that the notification of the Co-chairmen of JCC from the parties about the next rotation should be carried out not later than a month before its beginning (item № 5 of the protocol № 7 from December, 06th, 1994, of the decision of JCC «About the joint peacekeeping forces»), the periodicity of the rotation - no often than once in half a year (item 4 of the Appendix № 1 to the protocol № 38 of the session of JCC from September, 30th - October, 2nd 2004). The previous rotation of the peace-making battalion of the peacekeeping forces of Georgia was carried out on May, 1st, 2007. The given fact of infringement of the terms of notification by the georgian side about the rotation of the peace-making battalion from Georgia makes impossible the control as by the observers from the parties from the structure of JPKF, so by the representatives of the Mission of OSCE in Georgia. The georgian side has once again ignored the requirements of the before accepted agreements under the order of carrying out of a rotation of the peace-making battalions», Juriy Vereshchak has told.
