South Ossetia will seek to unite with Russia and to create (initially) the union state. Belarus has not recognized South Ossetia, and there cannot be any union between the states which don`t recognize each other. I was referring to the union state with Russia. If any other state joins it, it will be welcomed "- the president said. He has stressed that in any case, the question of unification of the Ossetian people is possible only within the borders of the Russian Federation. "We are being imposed on by some Western analysts as if the West will recognize South Ossetia, if we convince North Ossetia to secede from the Russian Federation and join us. This is nonsense, of course. We are striving to unite, but only with Russia,"- the President has underlined. He has also noted that in the near future the independence of South Ossetia will be recognized by a number of solid states, the UN member states. "I have no doubt that the recognition of South Ossetia – is an irreversible process. Recognitions will take place. I also have no doubt that in the near future the flag of South Ossetia will be flying in front of UN. "- Kokoity has said.
